A Golden Retriever Named Reba - WIP 2
Hi All,
Here's another update on Reba. I haven't gotten a lot done this time but I still thought it would be nice to keep you posted on my progress.
I just love the lighting on the reference photo and I'm having fun creating that lighting in the portrait.
I'm still using Prismacolor pencils and Derwents Colorsoft pencils. I have to say..... I just love working on this Suede Mat board. If you haven't tried it you should.
Keep Scribbling!
Gemma
Hi
ReplyDeleteit looks beautiful so far :)
Thanks Lene!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Gemma, I found your blog through Lynda Schumacher. Wanted to say that the golden is looking fabulous already. Been to your website too, love your work! Isn't suede a fabulous support? I just love it for pastel but will have to try cp's. Best wishes, Colette
ReplyDeleteHi Colette, Oh yes, I just love the suede board, if you haven't tried it with cp's you must give it a try. Thanks so much for your very kind words about my artwork. Gemma
ReplyDeleteHi Gemma, I also found your blog through Lynda which led me to Colette. It's funny I just asked Colette a couple of days ago how she likes the suede board. I do cp as well. Can it take a lot of layers of color? Your work is remarkable!
ReplyDeleteHi Dianna, Thanks so much for your kind comments about my work.
ReplyDeleteYes... the suede board can take tons of layers. It's great to work on, you should try it for sure.
Gemma
I am trying your method on the suede Gemma. I've used suede board for five years but never thought to try using turpenoid on it. With that I can get a very lot of layers! The way I was doing it before I could only get about 4 layers at most before I lost the tooth. Thanks for the tip.
